Bag Lady

Just to prove to *some people* that I really can blog about something else besides clothes, shoes and purses, Hammacher Schlemmer is having a private sale up to 50% off.  For those of you who don't read SkyMall on a regular basis, Hammacher Schlemmer is like Brookstone or Frontgate.  Overpriced, posh toys for grown-ups.

Overpriced?  Consider this swank 3-suit leather carry-on bag that is on sale at Hammacher for $99 (reg. $175) PLUS the shipping (which is a hefty $16.75).  You sling the bag over your shoulder -- no wheels or anything helpful like that.  Think road-warrior-sherpa meets LaGuardia or O'Hare since you'll have another bag or two (ok, 5 for me...it only holds 3 suits, which is what I pack for a daytrip.  Then I'll have a bag for my computer, my make-up, my accessories and shoes and my other clothes.  5 bags minimum).  And did I mention black is the only color?  Because you really need a black bag to differentiate yourself at the airport.

Or you could buy this leather carry-on bag for $79 at overstock.com and pay $2.95 for shipping.  Personally, if I were in the market for such a bag, I would spend another 50-bucks and go for the wheel-upgrade.  Too bad it doesn't come in pink.

Hand Me Down Hannas

Hanna Andersson, the sought-after Swedish children's catalogue, is having a sale 20% off Spring & Summer clothes.  These peasant tops are so sweet and girly -- they match perfectly with the 3 Flower Skirt.  What little girl wouldn't love this adorable purse for $10 (reg. $18) to finish off the outfit?

And as I have said before -- HA has PHENOMENAL resale value on eBay, especially the daydress/playdress lines in popular colors like pink and purple (and OMG, is that the CUTEST pic or what?!).

Needless Markup

Sweet mother of GOD!  Neiman Marcus has some terrific prices on Eileen Fisher -- lots of pieces are 75% off!  If you are challenged with wanting to be comfortable yet look stylish in fabrics that forgive...check out the sale!

Some other favorite designers on sale: Nanette Lepore, Catherine Malandrino, and my newest crush, Valentino Red (which is still insanely expensive but just for fun, go check out the Valentino shawls on sale for $870-1140!  See what I mean?  The Red line is like the Old Navy of couture!).

And Manolos are on sale too -- the calf hair pumps look to be a superb investment piece for $288 (reg. $575)...sadly they only come in size 7.5

All Hail the Republic

Banana Republic is having a 40% off sale on spring clothes.  I found a pair of CUTE cropped Ryan trousers on sale for $49 (reg. $78) and some good deals on jewelry

Men are on sale too, but apparently they only send the clothes.

Free shipping on orders of $175 with the code SPRINGSHIP at checkout.

Spring into Winter

Nice deals on the dregs of winter clearance at Nordstrom.  Lovely Calvin Klein Cashmere Coat for $97 (reg $328).  This gorgeous Merino Sheepskin coat with long-haired shearling trim will NEVER go out of fashion and it is a steal at $426 (reg. $1,425)...as long as you are an XS or S (def. not me!).  Lots of cute jewelry and accessories!

Plus free shipping for the whole order as long as you buy a pair of regularly priced shoes.  So indulge in the latest trendy patents or go 50s Glam Movie Star with the peeptoe pumps

Marching Round the World

Sorry I've been scarce lately.  Not enough time and too much to do!  Was combing through the clearance aisles of the Internet and saw that National Geographic is having a sale (up to 70% off).  So if you are a geek (or your kids are...or you want them to be), stock up while the selection is good.

Except don't buy March of the Penguins.  My pint-sized critic and her blond sidekick said that it was about as exciting as watching grass grow.  Hmm, sarcasm in ones so young?  Where do they get it?  Must be the father's influence...
